| Monthly Support Meetings |
| |
Through experience, we have found that talking to others who have found themselves in a similar situation is particularly helpful and can be of great comfort.
We think everybody would agree that the thought of coming along to a meeting is terrifying, but all say that it is probably the best thing that they could have done. Parents often have the support they need from family and friends; indeed we are not here to replace that support, but to compliment it. It is not a formal meeting, there is no agenda; it is bereaved parents gaining comfort from others for the terrible loss they have suffered. We share books, information, sometimes smiles, sometimes tears. |

At most meetings a midwife from the local community will come along and is most helpful in answering questions, arranging further follow-up care and supporting you with any subsequent pregnancies. Some members that help run the group are SANDS ‘befrienders’, who have undergone specific training and act as a first point of call for newly bereaved parents.
We meet on the first Wednesday of each month in the Child Development Centre at Clatterbridge Hospital from 7.30pm. There are signs to point you in the right direction. Google Maps |
